NOTES: Shiner (8-2) and Mason (11-0) meet in the playoffs for the seventh time in the last eight years.

Mason owns a 4-2 edge and this is the fourth time the teams have played in the second round.

Shiner advanced to area with a bi-district win over Santa Maria, and Mason beat Rosebud-Lott.

Shiner has averaged over 40 points per game in its eight wins and scored a total of 12 points in its two losses.

Mason's smallest margin of victory has been 35 points.

Shiner's Donyai Taylor and Collin Bujnoch have combined to rush for 1,333 yards and 17 touchdowns.

The winner advances to the regional round against the winner of Friday's Yorktown-Thrall game.
