The fifth meeting was no different.
The Lady Comanches and the Lady Cats met once more in the regional final Thursday night ( May 25, 2017 ) at La Grange High School and neither disappointed.
Shiner defeated Weimar 12-3 to advance to its third straight trip to the state tournament.
Three other regional finals will be determined this weekend to see who goes to the state tournament. Bells will face Tom Bean, Petrolia will face Archer City and Woden will play Joaquin.
Shiner and Weimar met twice already this season. The Lady Comanches won both District 28-2A contests.
Shiner (23-2-2) scored five runs on four hits and two errors in the top of the second inning.
Kailey Williams reached second base on a throwing error, Lauren Schuette grounded out, but another throwing error brought home Williams.
With the bases loaded, freshman designated player Cameron Cowan walked to bring in another run.
Mackinly Pilat and Kassidy Bishop hit back-to-back RBI singles and Williams was hit by a pitch to bring home the last run of the inning.
The Lady Cats (20-6) answered back in the bottom of the second.
Bethany Nevlud (14-0-1) gave up one run and two hits through five innings in the circle for Shiner.
Makayla Kunz hit a home run to cut the Lady Comanches' lead to four.
Shiner added five more runs in the top of the fifth.
Lauren Haas hit a two-run double followed by an RBI double by Taylor Wenske.
With runners on the corners, a wild pitch brought home another run. Mackinly Pilat added a RBI single for the final run of the inning.
NOTE: Shiner advances to the UIL Class 2A State Championships scheduled for next Wednesday (semifinals) and Thursday (finals).
