Notes: Lavaca County foes Shiner (1-0) and Hallettsville (1-0) play for the 13th time overall and the first since 2013. The teams had not played since Shiner won in 1991 until Hallettsville won in 2012 and 2013.
Hallettsville leads the series 9-3.
Shiner captured a 34-13 season-opening win over Goliad and is ranked No. 3 in the state's Class 2A poll.
Hallettsville blanked Schulenburg 45-0.
Shiner's Dadrian Taylor rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown.
Hallettsville's DJ Taylor passed for 212 yards and three touchdowns.
