Darilek helped lead the Lady Comanches to their fifth state title by compiling a 24-2 record with a 1.58 ERA that included 109 strikeouts in 137 innings.
Darilek also hit .488 with one home run, four triples, 13 doubles and 39 RBIs, and was named the MVP in District 28-2A.
Darilek's performance led to her selection as the Player of the Year and as a first-team pitcher on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 2A All-State Softball Team.
"It was pretty amazing," said Shiner coach Steven Cerny. "She's really not a strikeout pitcher. But she's so good at hitting spots. She was able to work the ball in and out so well. She worked hard during the season and did a great job."
Cerny was in his second season as the team's head coach and directed Shiner to a 31-5-1 record and was named the Class 2A Coach of the Year.
"It's been a great year," Cerny said. "Winning the state title was a good way to finish it."
Shiner had three players selected to the first team.
Along with Darilek, senior Tamara Hajek was chosen at catcher, and freshman Bethany Nevlud was picked as the utility player/designated hitter.
Hajek hit .506 with five home runs and 32 RBIs. Nevlud hit .433 with four home runs and 31 RBIs, and had a 7-3 pitching record with two saves and had a 1.81 ERA.
Weimar senior Shelby Vacek was a first-team selection in the outfield. Vacek hit .561 and had 32 stolen bases.
Pitcher Coco Caraway, catcher Camille Grahmann, and shortstop Kendyl Lange helped lead Hallettsville to the Class 3A state championship game.
Caraway and Grahmann, who are juniors, and Lange, who is a sophomore, were first-team selections on the Class 3A team.
Caraway had a 27-3 record with a 1.68 ERA. Grahmann hit .540 with 38 RBIs and stole 42 bases. Lange hit .572 with 41 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.
Shiner sophomore second baseman Lauren Schuette and Woodsboro sophomore Kasten Cisneros were third-team picks on the Class 2A team.
Yoakum senior outfielder Sheyanne Chumchal was a third-team selection on the Class 4A team.
Bay City third baseman McKayla Brown earned honorable mention on the Class 4A team.
Van Vleck pitcher Hanna Harvey and catcher Madison O'Neal received honorable mention on the Class 3A team.
Earning honorable mention on the Class 2A team were Ganado pitcher Cheyenne Galindo and shortstop Taylor Mirelez; Weimar pitcher Allison Williams, catcher Hunter Ervin, first baseman Makayla Kunz and utility/designated hitter Darrian Smith, and Woodsboro shortstop Rachel Blaschke and outfielder Hannah Niemann.
