PLEASANTON - Steven Evans and Garet Pustka combined for five touchdowns to spark the Shiner Comanches to a 35-0 Class 1A area playoff win over the Ben Bolt Palito Blanco Badgers on Friday night.

The Comanches, now 11-1, will next face West Sabine on Friday at 7:30 p.m. regional playoff at Rhodes Stadium in Katy.

Shiner held the Badgers to just 36 yards rushing while gaining 294 yards on the ground and compiling 372 yards of offense. Ben Bolt, which ended the year at 9-2, did pass for 250 yards but couldn't crack the goal line.

Pustka put Shiner on scoreboard with 6:58 left in the first quarter on a 50-yard punt return. The conversion kick by Ryan Kloesel was blocked.

The Comanche quarterback later run for a touchdown and pass for a touchdown to Evans, who also ran in two score.

Evans, who rushed for 68 yards on 13 carries, scored on an 8-yard run with 6:35 left in the half and then ran in the two-point conversion. With one minute left in the half, Pustka and Evan teamed for a 21-yard touchdown pass and Pustka then passed to Chase O'Connor for the two-point conversion and a 22-0 halftime lead. Pustka scored on a 5-yard run with 2:30 left in third quarter and the run for two failed.

Evans capped the scoring with a 1-yard plunge with 7:51 left in the game and Kloesel added the conversion.

Chris Baer led the Comanches in rushing with 137 yards on 17 carries while Pustka picked up 44 on seven carries and completed 3 of 8 passes for 58 yards. Kensley Wright rushed six times for 30 yards.

O'Connor caught two passes for 36 yards while Casey Coleman and Evans each had one catch for 21 yards.

Erasmo Reyna led Ben Bolt with 25 yards rushing on five carries while David Ruiz completed 11 of 26 passes for 250 yards. Randy Arriola had three catches for 93 yards and Samson Mejia had three catches for 37 yards while Rusty Buentello had two catches for 34 yards and Ricky San Miguel had one catch for 59 yards.
