Wright leads Shiner to win

SAN ANTONIO - Quentin Wright ran for three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass to lead Shiner to a 48-2 Class 1A bi-district playoff victory over D'Hanis on Saturday at East Central's Hornet Stadium.

The Comanches improved to 10-1 and advanced to the area playoffs against Ben Bolt (9-1). The Cowboys ended the season at 9-2.
Wright scored on runs 7 and 4 yards in the first quarter and added a 4-yard touchdown run and caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Garet Pustka in the second quarter.
Pustka carried 10 times for 117 yards and scored on a 52-yard run in the third quarter.
Pustka also completed five of his eight passes for 85 yards.
Chris Baer heads for the goal line with some good help from a blocker against D'Hanis.
Chris Baer rushed 15 times for 90 yards and scored on runs of 22 yards in the second quarter and 10 yards in the third quarter. The Comanches rushed for 328 yards and limited D'Hanis to 86 yards rushing.
Jared Boedeker set up one Shiner score with a fumble recovery, Brady Strauss set up another with a blocked punt, and Casey Coleman had an interception to start another scoring drive.
D'Hanis got a safety in the first quarter when Pustka slipped and fell while attempting to pass out of the end zone.
Casey Coleman is brought down after an interception and big gainer for Shiner.
