GEORGE WEST - D.J. Pustka scored a pair of touchdowns as the Shiner Comanches took a 16-0 win over the Ben Bolt Badgers in a Class 1A bi-district playoff.
Pustka, who gained 68 yards on nine carries, scored on a 29-yard run with 5:55 left in the third quarter, and on a 13-yard run with 1:29 left in the final quarter.
Shiner also got a safety when tackle Colton Henley sacked Ben Bolt quarterback Alex Mejia in the end zone with 1:15 left in the game.
The Comanches, now 9-2, will advance to the area round of the playoff against Charlotte, which had a bye in the first round.
Ben Bolt's Oscar Rivera was the top runner as he picked up 82 yards on 15 carries while Miguel Gomez gained 28 yards on six carries and Mejia picked up 20 yards on 11 carries. Mejia had just 2 yards passing as he completed only 1 of 9 passes against the tough Shiner defense.
