FLATONIA - Dexter Mayberry scored a pair of touchdowns as the Shiner Comanches routed the Flatonia Bulldogs 42-7 in a District 31-1A game and advanced to the playoffs.
Mayberry gained 130 yards on 22 carries and scored on runs of 2 and 21 yards as Shiner improved to 5-1 in district and 6-4 overall. Shiner will play a Division I bi-district game while Flatonia ends the year at 3-3 in district and 5-5 overall.
Comanche quarterback Matthew Hibbs ran for 38 yards on 12 carries and scored touchdowns of 2, 4 and 2 yards. Hibbs also caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Josh Nance.
Flatonia's lone touchdown came on an 11-yard pass from Jordan Williams to Hunter Pinney, who caught 6 passes for 35 yards. Williams completed 12 of 30 passes for 38 yards and ran 8 times for 10 yards while Adrian Lighteard ran 7 times for 23 yards.
Shiner's Kyle Condel ran for 66 yards on 5 carries while Hibbs completed 1 of 2 passes for 3 yards and Nance 1 of 1 for 12 yards.
Shiner had 224 yards of offense while Flatonia was limited to 109 yards.
