CHARLOTTE - The Shiner Comanches moved toward claiming the District 30-1A title with a 3-14 win over the Charlotte Trojans.
Bryan Franklin scored twice and Garet Pustka added a touchdown and 121 yards rushing on 23 carries to spark the Comanches (5-2,3-0).
Franklin got the Comanches out to a 14-0 lead on scoring runs of 22 and 1 yards, with Pustka hooking up with Steven Evans on a two-point conversion.
Charlotte (5-3,2-1) struck back with 1:50 left in the first quarter when John Gaitan and Juan Sanchez connected on a 5-yard TD pass. Tommy Garcia then hit Adam Garcia on the two-point conversion.
Pustka bulled his way into the end zone from two yards out and added the conversion run in the second quarter for a 22-8 halftime Comanche lead.
The Trojans made one last charge at the Comanches in the third quarter when Alfred Salazar hit Tommy Garcia on a 64-yard TD pass, cutting the Shiner lead to 22-14.
But the Comanche's defense, which limited the Trojans to 31 yards rushing, struck back with Quentin Wright intercepting a pass on fourth down and returning it 80 yards for a touchdown.
