Franklin's five TDs pace Shiner victory

SHINER - Bryan Franklin scored five touchdowns, including two on blocked punt returns, to lead the Shiner Comanches to a 58-7 District 30-1A homecoming victory over the Runge Yellowjackets.
After Franklin's 10-yard touchdown run with 8:20 to go in the first quarter, Shiner (3-2,1-0) found itself behind 7-6 as Runge (0-5,0-1) scored on a 70-yard Chris King run with 7:59 left.
But the Comanches erupted for 31 more first quarter points to put the game away. Quarterback Garet Pustka scored on an 8-yard run and threw a 54-yard TD pass to Eric Murphy, and Franklin scored on runs of 54 and 13 yards and also grabbed a punt block by Shawn Flores in the air in the Runge end zone for another TD in the 31-point spree.
Shiner padded its lead in the second quarter on Devin Carroll's 47-yard TD pass from Pustka and Franklin's 21-yard return of a Runge punt that was blocked by Carroll.
Chris Baer ended the game's scoring in the third quarter on a 2-yard run.
Franklin led all rushers with 136 yards on 10 carries.
Deadra Wright was crowned homecoming queen at halftime.
