SHINER -- Josh Greathouse rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Shiner Comanches to a 41-8 victory over the Schulenburg Shorthorns. The Comanches opened the season scoring in every quarter and took a 41-0 lead until the Shorthorns broke their scoring drought with 3:11 to play.
Matthew Hibbs hit Adam Kalich on a 27-yard scoring pass and Greathouse scampered 15 yards to put the Comanches up 14-0 in the first quarter.
Greathouse broke loose on an 88-yard run early in the second quarter and Kalich found the end zone from 8 yards out for a 28-0 halftime advantage.
Hibbs would add a 14-yard scoring run in the third quarter and Drew Stafford a 17-yard run in the fourth.
Chad Langford ran 9 yards for the Shorthorns' lone score with David Houston tacking on a two-point conversion.
