SHINER - The Shiner Comanches handed Pettus its first loss of the season by a score of 60-8.
Shiner (3-3, 2-0) struck first with a Cody Franke two-yard run midway through the first quarter, but Pettus (4-1, 0-1) answered right back with quick drive down the field that took just over a minute and was capped off by a goal line touchdown from J. Briggs Hensley.
It was all Shiner from that point on. Franke scored on a 17yard run near the end of the first quarter. The extra point failed, giving Shiner a 13-8 lead going into the second quarter.
D.J. Pustka led the Comanches with 103 yards and scored a touchdown. Kyle Condel and Franke each had two rushing touchdowns and Josh Greathouse scored on a run as well.
Matthew Hibbs had a solid defensive game, picking off two passes and returning one 46 yards for a touchdown. Hibbs also scored on special teams, recovering a blocked punt and running it nine yards to the end zone.
