Shiner not only completed the 2004 season by winning its fourth state baseball championship, it also dominated the Class 1A state tournament team.
The Comanches occupied eight of the 10 spots on the all-tournament team selected by the media covering the event.
Shiner captured an 8-7 win over Maud in the semifinal game on Thursday at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, and claimed a 13-3 win over Follett in the final on Friday at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
Shiner's all-tournament selections were junior pitcher Scott Shimek, senior catcher Brady Strauss, senior first baseman Garet Pustka, junior second baseman Jared Boedeker, sophomore third baseman Russell Boothe, junior outfielders Chris Baer and Chase O'Connor and sophomore designated hitter Ryan Kloesel.
The other selections were Follett senior Cody Freeman at shortstop and junior Skylar Gensman in the outfield.
