Four high school football players will represent the Advocate area in this year's Texas High School Coaches Association Football All-Star Game.

Cuero quarterback Matt Schumacher, Shiner running back/linebacker Chris Baer, El Campo wide receiver/defensive back Arkeith Brown and Bay City linebacker Terrance Flagg were named to the South roster on Monday.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the San Antonio Alamodome in conjunction with the THSCA Coaching School that week. San Antonio Taft coach Lee Bridges will coach the North squad, and Bobby Davis, coach of Wolfforth Frenship, will lead the South team.

No area athletes were named to the All-Star basketball game, scheduled for Monday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Greehy Arena on the campus of St. Mary's University in San Antonio.
