Both the St. Paul Cardinals and Shiner Comanches have district road games this week: St. Paul heads north to Temple to play Central Texas Christian; Shiner heads for Ganado to battle the Indians. It's the final week of the regular season for the St. Paul Cardinals and the Shiner Comanches. St. Paul is at New Braunfels John Paul II while the Comanches host Schulenburg.

SCHULENBURG SHORTHORNS AT SHINER COMANCHES

The Comanches wrap up district play against the Schulenburg Shorthorns Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Comanche Stadium.

"Schulenburg has lots of talent, especially at the skilled positions," Comanche head coach Daniel Boedeker said. "Their spread offense will be a challenge for our defense.

Schulenburg prefers to run the football with some passing mixed in. Primary ball carriers will be Desmond Lewis, Kelsean Johnson, Kenny King and Tyler Ryba.

"Since they like to get the ball to their players in space, we will have to make sure we tackle in space, wrap up well and fly to the football," Boedeker said.

Schulenburg will come out in multiple formations, mostly in the 50 front.

Boedeker said it will be important for the offensive line to perform blocking assignments well.
