The Shiner St. Paul Cardinals are is back in action ... and back on the road as they head back to Houston to take on Woodlands Legacy Prep, while back in Shiner, it's Homecoming for the Shiner Comanches as Burton comes to town.
BURTON PANTHERS AT SHINER COMANCHES
The Comanches (4-0) are back home to host Burton in this year's Homecoming contest.
Burton has won all three of their games this season, 42-0 over Brazos, Waco Reichter 20-3 and 32-6 over Holland.
The Panthers have been especially stout on defense, giving up a mere 3 points a game. "Burton is a good team that always has talent," Shiner head coach Daniel Boedeker said.
Burton runs a splitback on offense and rotates several different running backs to carry the football in Jaden Brown, Pierson Spies, Chad Schubert, Austin Gutierrez and Tyrone Gilmon.
"They run the toss play and they also have a power run game where they will come right at you," Boedeker said. "Our defense will have to make sure they are in the correct position."
On defense, Burton runs a '50' and the 4-3. "They are big up front and have two very good linebackers in Waylon Hinze and Schubert," Boedeker said. "The two ends are very big. Our lineman will have to get a good push and stay on blocks."
