The Shiner defense ruled the roost Friday night in Poth in a 39-10 win. The Comanches (4- 0) defense scored on two interception returns and scored two safeties. The offense was led by Dalton Brooks who ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns with Doug Brooks totaling 55 yards and a one touchdown.

Dalton Brooks gave Shiner a 14-0 lead in the first frame on runs of 43 and 3 yards.

The Pirates cut the lead to 14-7 with 10:25 left in the second quarter with a 16-yard run by Zane Raabe. Shiner went ahead 21-7 as Eli Fric had an 88-yard pick six. The Pirates got a 35- yard field goal by Seth Drzymala as time expired for the first half.

In the third quarter, a Comanche drive stalled inside their own 30 and a punt by Dalton Patton went 73 yards, downed at the Poth 1. The Shiner defense, led by Doug Brooks, brought down the ball carrier in the end zone for the safety with 7:16 left in the quarter.

Shiner stalled out on the next possession and Patton again pinned the Pirates at their 1. History quickly repeated itself as the Comanche defense got another safety for a 23-10 lead at the 4:51 mark.

Wenske's interception return for touchdown gave Shiner a 32-10 lead with less than 10 minutes to play in the game.

Doug Brooks's 6-yard run after Shiner returned a punt to the Pirate 14 sealed the game as Shiner led 39-10 with 5:45 left to play in the game.
