Donyai Taylor rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns, with Tyler Palmer passing for 144 yards and three touchdowns as Shiner earned their second consecutive shutout by blasting Tidehaven 52-0 on Friday ( September 20, 2019 ) in El Maton.

Cash Shows added a short touchdown run; Cole Patek, Cross Rankin and Devin Lehnert all had a touchdown catch each; kicker Connor Winkenwerder made his second field goal of the season, a 45-yarder on the final play of the first half. Taylor got his first score on an 18-yard run with 8:44 left in the opening quarter and with 4:16 left, had a 42-yard run. Patek had a 61-yard grab with 40 seconds left in the first to give Shiner a 21-0 lead.

Taylor scored his third from his own side of the field on a 51-yard run with 3:58 to go until haltime and the long boot by Winkenwerder with no time left gave the Comanches a 31-0 lead at halftime.

The only score of the third period was 44-yard pass from Palmer to Rankin at the 6:05 mark.

Fourth-quarter touchdowns were a 36-yard pass from Palmer to Lehnert early in the quarter and and Shows’s 2-yard run with less than five minutes to play.

Shiner starts a three game home stand this week with Goliad. Lexington comes in on October 4 before the October 11 Homecoming game, the district opener against Yorktown.
