In a little deja vu, Shiner closed out the regular season with a 35-0 setback at Refugio on Friday. Shiner finishes second in district following just its second loss of the regular season.

The Bobcats’ first score came on defense as Quintis Jones ran an interception back 63 yards at the 7:08 mark of the first quarter. Isidrio Masscoro had a 52- yard run with less than a minute left in the half.

The ‘Cats had one second-quarter score -— a 10-yard pass from Jared Kelley to Jonathan Bailey.

Refugio scored a single touchdown in each of the third and fourth quarters through the air. Kelley had a 13-yard pass to Darren Ramirez and a 20-yard pass to Jake Tinsman.

Collin Bujnoch led the Shiner rushing game with 40 yards on 14 carries; The Comanches finished with 142 yards rushing overall.

The Comanches have shorter-than-usual turnaround as they will play Santa Maria in the 2A Division I bi-district game tonight ( Thursday, November 16, 2017 ) at 7 p.m. at Cotton Picker Stadium in Robstown.
