Shiner will welcome the Ganado Indians to town for a 15-2ADI game tomorrow ( Friday, November 3, 2017 ) night.

It will be Senior Night for the Comanches as six seniors — Jacob Cowan, Dustin Petras, Cole Jalufka, SL Lewis, Cesar Reyes and Carl Seymour suit up for the final time at Comanche Stadium.

Head coach Steven Cerny said the Comanches need to take care of business and give the seniors a special night in their final home game.

The Indians are 2-4 overall and 1-2 in district play where they beat Kenedy, and have lost to Weimar and Refugio.

“Ganado has a young team and has struggled but I expect they will play hard against us,” Comanches head coach, Cerny said.

The Indians offense will primarily line up in the double tight end and I-formation, and will line up in the shotgun.

“They use balanced sets and can put the defense in a bind,” Cerny said. “We will need to be lined up correctly.”

The Indians have not relied on one or two offensive players to produce yards but on several players including senior running back Toby Ortiz, junior quarterback Logan Hurt, sophomore quarterback Gabriel Aguilar, and sophomore running backs Ethan Guerra, Ryan Williams and Cameron Bates.

The Comanches expect Ganado to run man-to-man coverage, will jam tight ends at the line and will try to stop the Shiner running game by putting as many as nine or 10 players in the box.
