The Shiner cross country teams came back from Corpus Christi on Monday ( October 23, 2017 ) with two top 10 finishes and two athletes headed for state.
The Lady Comanches placed fifth with 168 points and are on alternate team for state, with Brooke Kloesel and Lillian Egan earning a trip to state as individual runners.
Kloesel placed No. 20 with a time of 13 minutes, 36.6 seconds and Egan followed 13:36.8. Faith Wagner was No. 31 in 13:55.7. Hannah Pustka was No. 47 in 14:28.6; Sarah Tronicek was No. 62 with 15:12.3; Hannah Lehnert was No. 65 in 15:17.7 and Jacy Chrismon was No. 83 in 16:02.7.
The Comanche boys team placed No. 10 with 276 points. Noah Matthews led Shiner with a No. 37 finish in 19:34.9; Aidan Seibert was No. 39 in 19:37.9; Tyler Hoy was No. 78 in 21:06.0; Jayden Carson placed No. 89 in 21:21.2; Brock Sestak was No. 107 in 22:12.2; Quinton Parker was No. 121 in 23:14.7; Christian Wagner was No. 126 in 23:53.7.
