Shiner won its second straight game with a 35-12 win over former district opponent Falls City on Friday ( September 22, 2017 ).

The victory caps a two-game road trip for the Comanches (2-1) who will be back at Comanches Stadium this week for the first time since hosting Hallettsville on Sept. 8. The Comanches scored first on a Donyai Taylor 13-run with Cole Jalufka on the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 7:03 left in the opening quarter.

The Beavers got in the end zone shortly after with a 70-yard run by Andrew Malcom but the two-point conversion was no good, leaving Shiner up 7-6. Shiner added seven to the lead on a 30-yard run by Lane Nevlud for a 14-6 halftime lead.

The Comanches began to pull away in the third frame as Taylor returned an interception for a touchdown less than a minute into the quarter and Collin Bujnoch scored on a 22-yard run with 2:30 left.

Early in the fourth, Keyshawn Johnson connected with Dillon Dziuk for a 33-yard pass to bring the Beavers within 28-12, after the failed two-point pass. Shiner put the icing on the cake with a 10-yard run by Jacob Cowan with 8:06 to play in the game.
