Game Preview: Shiner Comanches at Ganado Indians

The Shiner Comanches play their final regular-season road game as they close out a two-game road trip at Ganado at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow ( Friday, October 27, 2016 ).

Last time out, the Comanches defeated Yorktown 40-22 to improve to 6-2 and 3-0 on the year.

Head coach Steven Cerny said the Indians base their offense out of double tight-end I formation and are balanced.

The Indians have attempted 90 passes so far, which is second in the district.

"They are still more of a running team," Cerny said.

The Comanche defense will have to pay attention to running backs Garrett McCann and tailback Matthew Sterling.

Sterling has 595 yards rushing and is the fourth best rusher in the district with McCann behind him with over 500 yards on the ground.

Ganado will line up in the 5-2 on the defensive side of the football.

Cerny said the Indians are an extremely physical team.

"They come off the ball fast and come right at you," he said. "We will have to be very physical with them."

Key players for the Ganado defense are lineman Malcolm Chaisson.

The game will serve as Parent's Night for the Indians. "Ganado will be up for this game," Cerny said.
