With few signs of any playoff jitters, the Lady Comanches easily swept Burton 11-0, 24-0 in their area playoff series in Smithville on Thursday and Friday.

In the first game, Shiner jumped out to a quick lead with 3 runs in the first inning, 2 of them knocked in by a double from Lauren Schuette. They added to that lead over the course of the game with 2 runs in the third and 3 each in the sixth and seventh, scoring 11 in all.
Mackinly Pilat, Kailey Williams, and Bethany Nevlud each hit 2 for 4.
Defensively, the Lady Comanches played a beautiful error-free ballgame and CeCe Darilek recorded a no-hitter, striking out 9 with just 2 walks.
After their 11-0 shutout Thursday night, the Lady Comanches went into game two without much to worry about. That was when their bats really came to life.
Shiner sent 23 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 18 runs on 7 hits, 10 walks, and several errors.

Tamara Hajek set the tone with a lead-off, stand-up triple and the inning just snowballed from there. Darilek knocked in 4 runs in the first with a double and a triple of her own, and Pilat and Kassidy Bishop batted in 3 runs each as well.
The Lady Comanches scored 6 more runs over the next 4 innings and held the Lady Panthers scoreless to end the game 24-0 after 5 innings.
This win earns Shiner a spot in the regional quarterfinals where they will face the Ganado Maidens in a rematch of their only district loss this season. The game will be played Wednesday night in Cuero starting at 7 p.m.
