The district champion Lady Comanches took on the Cedar Creek Eagles on Tuesday as a warm-up game before entering the playoffs and came away with a 4-0 victory.
Both teams remained scoreless through three innings of play, but Shiner rallied in the fourth, scoring 3 runs on 4 consecutive doubles from CeCe Darilek, Tamara Hajek, Lauren Schuette, and Bethany Nevlud.
The Lady Comanches added 1 more run in the 6th to up their season record to 21-4.
Darilek pitched the shutout, striking out 10 and giving up just 3 hits.
Schuette hit 2 for 3 and Darilek went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.
After earning a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the Lady Comanches will begin their playoff journey in the area round at Smithville, They will take on the Burton Panthers in a best of 3 series. Game 1 will be played on Thursday at 7 p.m., game 2 on Friday at 6 p.m., and if necessary, game 3 will follow 30 minutes after game 2.
