Led by Trey Curtis and Chris Baer, the Comanches racked up 306 yards of offense against Pettus with the defense allowing only 87 yards.

Quarterback Curtis rushed for 77 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown and passed for two more. Justin Joslin and Nick Evans were on the receiving end of Curtis' scoring strikes,

Baer had 15 carries for 83 yards and one touchdown. Dustin Maybenry scored one touchdown and Scott Shimek added three PATs and a 38-yard field goal.

Pettus marched 63 yards on their next possession and scored on a 27-yard pass from Jon Perez to Doug Martin. The 2-pointconversion run by Santry was good and the score was 36-14 with almost 12 minutes left in the game.

The Eagles created another opportunity recovering the onside kick at the Shiner 39. However two penalties hampered their efforts and they turned the ball over on downs. Neither team sustained any offense the rest of the game and Shiner came away with a 36-14 win.

In the other District 31-1A playoff game, Flatonia will meet Ben Bolt Friday at East Central High School in San Antonio.
