Quentin Wright, Garet Pustka and Chris Baer each scored two touchdowns each in the first half in a 46-13 rout of the Runge Yellowjackets in District 30-1A play last Friday in Runge. Wright's first score capped a 62-yard drive with 9:13 left in the first period.

Baer's touchdown came on Shiner's next possession on a 50-yard run with 5:20 left in the period.

Pustka scored on a 1-yard run early in the second period. Scott Shimek was good on all three PATs for a 21-0 lead.

The Comanches added three more scores before the half on a 1-yard run by Baer, Pustka's 37-yard scamper and Wright's 6-yard run.

Shimek tacked on one more extra point and Shiner led 40-0 at the half.

Trey Curtis, Kenzley Wright and Steven Evans took command of the offensive unit in the second half.

Following a scoreless third quarter, Runge finally got on the board with Gabriel Gutierrez scoring on a 30-yard pass from Jaime Garza. Zeb Zapata added the PAT.

Six minutes later, Daniel Salazar recovered a Comanche fumble in the end zone for six points.

Mason McCorkle added a touchdown for Shiner with 1:35 left in the game for a 46-13 final.

Even though he played only half of the game, Baer led Shiner with 160 yards on eight carries. Wright carried nine times for 95 yards and Pustka had six carries for 74 yards.

The Comanches amassed a total of 415 rushing yards, averaging almost 10 yards per carry. Pustka was 2-4 in the passing department completing tosses to Casey Coleman and Steven Evans.

Trey Curtis was picked off twice in the second half. Garza completed ll-of-23 passes for 168 yards. Jared Boedeker and Ryan Kloesel had one interception each.

Shiner didn't have to punt during the entire game, while Runge had to punt five times.

The Comanches fumbled five times, losing one, which could become a factor in a close game.
