The Shiner Comanches rolled to another District 31-1A win with a 31-0 shutout of the Runge Yellowjackets last Friday in Runge.

The win ups Shiner's record to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in district.
The Comanches rushed for 258 yards and added 45 more on two pass completions.
Chris Baer let the attack with 173 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Trey Curtis picked up 27 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Ryan Kloesel had five carries for 35 yards.
Also seeing offensive action and adding to the rushing totals were Kenzley Wright, Isaac Casares and Kyle Condel. Condel also completed a pass to Nick Evans for a 36-yard touchdown.
Scott Shimek booted four PATs and added a 31-yard filed goal.
The Yellowjackets had -36 yards in rushing but completed 14 passes for 125 yards.
The Comanches struck quickly, scoring on the first play of the game with Baer racing 50 yards for the touchdown. Shimek boothed the PAT and Shiner let 7-0 with only 19 ticks off the clock.
Runge quarterback, Casey Oldham, then completed two of his 14 passes before Baer picked off his third attempt on the Runge 46.
Shiner then mixed up their running game with Baer, Curtis and Wright grinding out the yardage on 10 plays to the 1-yard line. Curtis' 1- yard run and Shimek's PAT made it 14-0 with 5:43 left in the first quarter.

Shiner's next posession started on the Runge 38 and ended with a 31- yard field goal by Shimek as the quarter ended.
The Yellowjackets found success through the air to start the second quarter. Oldham completed five passes on a 48-yard drive before having to punt the ball away.
The punt was downed on the Shiner 6-yard line. The Comanches worked their way to the 43 but were forced to punt.
Shimek's kick was downed on the Runge 11. The Yellowjackets fumbled on their first snap and Jared Boedeker came up with the recovery setting up Baer's second touchdown from the 1-yard line.
The half ended 24-0.
The scoreless third quarter included three Runge punts and one Shiner punt as well as a Shiner fumble and several penalties.
After an exchange of fumbles to start the final period, the Comanches marched 62 yards for their final score. Kyle Condel, Ryan Kloesel and Isaac Casares joined Baer in the backfield and after eight plays to the Runge 36, Condel hit Nick Evans for the touchdown.
The PAT made the final score 31-0.
The Comanches host the winless Louise Hornets in another district game this Friday at Comanche Stadium. Game time is 7:30pm.
