Collin O'Connor has agreed to play football at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.
Collin has been a defensive stand-out for the Comanches the last two years at defensive end. He is a 4-year letterman for Shiner, starting out on the offensive line and then switching to the defensive line his junior year.
He was an All-District selection at guard his sophomore year and a First Team All-District (unanimous) selection his junior and senior years at defensive end. He was also selected to the Victoria Advocate All-Area team his junior and senior years.
TLU Bulldogs are a Division III school in the American Southwest Conference. Other teams in the conference include: Mary Hardin Baylor, Hardin Simmons, Sul Ross State, Howard Payne, McMurray, East Texas Baptist, Louisiana College and Mississippi College. Head coach of the Bulldogs is Dennis Parker.
TLU opens the 2009 season September 12 against Trinity, followed by a September 19 game against Mary Hardin-Baylor. Both games are at Matador Stadium in Seguin.
Collin has also been invited to play in the 2009 Elite Sports 10th Annual "King Kamehameha" Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii in July and the Down Under Bowl in Australia in June.
