AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Holly Haas had four hits and drove in five runs to lift Shiner to a 16-4 victory against Lindsay in the Class 1A state softball semifinals Thursday.
Ashley Shimek improved to 23-0 by allowing four hits and striking out eight for Shiner (31-4). Kristin Schacherl, Julianna Rankin and Jordan Pietsch had two hits apiece for Shiner.
It was the 19th straight win for Shiner, which is going for its fourth state title in nine trips to the state tournament. The last title came in 2008. Shiner will play Grapeland for the championship Saturday.
Ranee Morrison scored twice for Lindsay (31-12) and had one of her team's four hits.
