Coach: Steven Cerny. DISTRICT 15-1A D1 - SHINER COMANCHES
Lettermen R/L: 11/10. Starters returning O/D: 3/6.
2009: 9-2 DI regional finalist/5-0 district.
Key Losses: Drew Stafford (Tarleton State).
Players to watch: LB Brady Beal (6-2, 170, 4.5), LB Joey Gamez (5-10, 170, 4.7).
Top sophomores: LB Ethan Hulsey (5-10, 155, 4.9).
Other prospects: QB Coy Boedeker, DE Kenneth Coleman, OT Shawn Jones, OG Sabino Rodriquez, LB Nick Nevlud, C Ky Sandelovic, CB Zach Lawrence, NG Marlon Wallace, CB Wesley Patek.
2010 notes: Coach Cerny is concerned about the Comanches' lack of size and inexperience in the backfield. The Comanches will lean on the defense while the veer offense works on its timing. LB Beal (74 tackles, 3 sacks) has good quickness and also plays TE (11-215, 4 TDs receiving) and punts. Gamez (80 tackles, 2 INTs) moves from SS to MLB. Boedeker (5 INTs) was all-district at SS and will move to QB. Coleman was all-district at DE and will also play on the OL.
