Lettermen R/L: 13/13. Starters returning 0/D: 4/6. 2003: 14-2 state finalist / 4-1 district.
Players to watch: RB-LB Chris Baer (6-0, 200, 4.5), OG-DE Clayton McCorkle (6-2, 215, 5.0). Top juniors: LB Ryan Kloesel (5-10, 165, 5.0), QB-S Trey Curtis (5-7, 155, 4.9).
Other prospects: LB Jared Boedeker, FL-CB Nick Evans, K-DE Scott Shimek, C Kevin Berger, TE Chase O'Connor, NG Dustin Pohler, CB Bucky Boehm, RB Kenzley Wright.
2004 notes: Shiner returns just four starters on offense from last year's team that reached the state title game. Curtis, who starred at safety last year, will move to QB. The Comanches will build this year's team around all-state RB-LB Baer (1,658 yards, 23 TDs; 122 tackles). McCorkle was a unanimous all-district OG in 2003. K Shimek (32 of 36 PATs) also returns.
