Shiner football head coach Steven Cerny told me Monday night that his son, Comanches' starting quarterback Brandon Cerny, had successful surgery last Friday (October 23, 2015) in Sugar Land.

Brandon Cerny suffered a fractured fibula against Ganado the week before. A plate was put on the leg during the surgery.

Coach Cerny told me Brandon just got out of his splint Monday and into a walking boot.

Coach Cerny also told me Brandon will be out a minimum of six weeks, but there's a possibility he could return a week earlier.
